  1. Oh no, Black Friday. I need jeans (I only have one pair of jeans, and they are the only pants that fit me) and pants, so I KNOW I am going to somehow get suckered into getting stuck in outrageous mall traffic on Friday because some store or other will have a deal on pants that I won’t be able to pass up.

  2. Black Friday (as it’s called) is the day after Thanksgving (which is this coming Thursday) where pre-holiday retail insanity grabs the States by the throat and shakes it very hard.

Okay, that made no sense. But it is the day after Thanksgiving, and it’s traditionally the busiest shopping day of the holiday season. Tons of stores have early bird specials and crazy stuff like that…for the people who show up at 5:00 am to shop.

If I’m going to be up early, there are other things I’d rather do than go shopping. But that’s just me.

Oh, and yes! Julia’s hair looks very nice now! Thanks for noticing!

  3. I don’t miss those days at all… not the kids making list part, that’s always sweet, but the shopping part. I can’t bring myself to participate in that massive shopping madness. I probably won’t shop for anything until around the first of February. When the kids get bigger it’s so nice to just give them cash and let them pay off all their bills. I know it doesn’t seem like much fun, but it’s really satisfying. And besides, we spend a nice day together stuffing our faces and hanging out together.
